2020 Book Prize Winners

We are delighted to announce the results of the 2019-2020 POL Prizes. 

Sarah Mangold is the winner of this year’s POL Prize, selected by Cynthia Hogue, for Her Wilderness Will Be Her Manners. Stephanie Ellis Schlaifer is the winner of the POL Editor’s Prize for Well Waiting Room. Their books will be published by Fordham Press in Fall 2021. 

We also congratulate the runner-up for the POL Prize, Sarah Sousa (for In Her Black Boundaries), as well as our additional finalists (in no ranked order): Jessica Lawson for Gash Atlas; Jody Chan for Impact Statement; Danielle Pafunda for Along the Road Everyone Must Travel; and M. Soledad Caballero for Birds of Prey.

Next year's POL Prize judge will be Patricia Spears Jones. The deadline for submissions will be October 15, 2020.
